Wanderlust : An Irresistible Desire To Travel To Understand One’s Very Existence
The Definition of Wanderlust is quite simply a strong, innate desire to travel. I love this meme and it really hits home. I never really knew that I had “wanderlust” until I dipped my toes in the water and went on a solo adventure to the other side of the world.
I love this quote because traveling really helped my find myself. I didn’t know what I was going to find. It just happens, and after you have had a taste your life will be changed forever.
We Travel Not To Escape Life, But For Life Not To Escape Us
Here is another travel quote that hits home. I truly thought that I was escaping my life. Midlife perhaps crisis perhaps? It was only when I found LIFE through travel that I understood this quote.
I noticed when I returned home, my outlook changed and I was a much happier person and felt strangely content in my every day life. I am not sure who who the author is to this quote, but they were spot on and the photo really grabs me! 🙂
I love this one, because I love to travel without an itinerary. On my last adventure I went to Asia and spent 6 weeks enjoying new cultures, foods, and making friends from places I had never even knew existed before.
Spontaneous travel took me to places that now lie dearly in my heart. I had the first two days of my six week travel adventure planned to get my feet planted. After that, my direction just seemed to be led by destiny. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t research your destinations. You should.. Walking into the shadows without any knowledge isn’t wise.. I just didn’t plan out a scripted vacation that was laid out in advance. There were a few times, that my next destination didn’t appear in my heart until 24 hours until departure!
Not All Those Who Wander Are Lost, by J.R.R. Tolkien
I read most of J.R.R. Tolkein’s books in my younger years and enjoyed traveling to all of his enchanted worlds. While, never have seen any magical wizards on any of my journeys, I have most definitely witnessed magic on a spiritual level.
Traveling abroad, I was perpetually always lost in the physical sense. But, there was no other place in the world that I would rather be!
Once The Travel Bug Bites Quote
When you get the travel bug, many (like I) almost feel addicted to the magical journey. Unlike other addictions that could afflict me, the travel bug is one that I will happily embrace and indulge in for the rest of my life. If they have to wheel me on the plane, I will look forward to seeing the same moon that we all share. Somehow, the view seems different when you are looking at it from the other side of the world!
